Johnny Fluffypunk
Stand-up poet, lo-fi theatremaker and self-made underachiever Jonny Fluffypunk has been dragging his art around the UK and occasionally beyond for over 25 years, deafly fusing bittersweet autobiography, disillusionment and wonder into performances that have established him as a firm favourite at gigs, festivals and housing benefit offices everywhere. He has two full-length collections of poems, micro-fictions and threadbare philosophy published by Burning Eye, numerous pamphlets, zines, project tie-ins and whatnot published by all sorts, and his numerous solo ‘no-fi’ stand-up spoken word theatre shows, including his latest, If We Just Keep Going, We Will Get There in the End, have toured extensively around theatres, pubs, garden sheds, summer houses, record shops and Britain's other ad-hoc performance spaces in a blatant championing of homespun DIY culture.
When not performing, Jonny runs workshops in both performance and writing, putting shapes and colours into the minds of young and old alike. For over 15 years he was assistant tutor to the late Tony Allen- ‘the godfather of alternative comedy’- on the ‘ATTITUDE!’ performance workshop courses in London and around the country, helping budding comedians, poets and performance artists discover and explore their own unique ways of being themselves on stage. He has mentored poets in various aspects of performance skills for many different organisations, including Apples & Snakes, Spork!, Don’t Feed The Poets, and Artful Scribe.
