Alun Hughes, one of our Dialect x Waterland writers in residence, recently co-hosted the evening show on BBC Radio Gloucestershire with Jon Smith.

Here he talks about how Dialect diversifies our cultural experience by providing a platform for emerging rural writers. Alun also talks about the way he mines that seam between the self and the land in his writing, in search of a place where the land can speak.

Dialect x Waterland Writer in Residence co-hosts the BBC Radio Gloucestershire evening show with Jon Smith. They talk about Alun's interest in place-based writing and his work listening to the land.

Alun’s first poem for Dialect was about the land that has been taken away from the landscape at the Water Park and the space that’s left. You can read it here.

Alun Hughes is Dialect x Waterland writer in residence throughout the months of March, July and November 2021.
