Words in the Woods

The first of three summer woodland writing days dedicated to parents and caregivers, with forest school and a kids writing workshop included for children aged 6+

Join us at the magical Sladebank Woods Roundhouse in Stroud Gloucestershire, for:

  • Focused and structured writing time in the wooden round-house for parents and caregivers

  • Refreshments

  • Access to the Dialect ‘mobile library’ of books and resources

  • Discussion time with other writers

  • Forest school for children aged 6+

  • Kids’ writing workshop with poet and facilitator Al Hughes

  • Shared fireside supper at the end of the day

You might write poetry or fiction, be a campaigner or a student - or just want some time to think and connect with nature. You don’t even need to have written before - we will provide plenty of inspiration and support.

Tickets are available on a tiered basis, depending on financial circumstances

Oak Tree tickets provide you and your children with the full day of activities, while also paying it forward for others in the community

Holly Tree Family tickets are at a discounted rate for those for who are on a smaller income

Rowan Tree Family tickets are for those experiencing financial hardship, and require only a £10 deposit to reserve a space (refundable on the day).

Individual tickets are available for parents and caregivers who are attending without children.

We also welcome payment in instalments - please contact us on the details below if this works better for you.

Words in the Woods retreats are also running on Sunday September 8th and Saturday September 28th 2024.

If your child requires additional support for Forest School, please just drop us an line and we’d be happy to discuss their needs with you.
